Pilates Works of Sarasota was founded by STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor Nina Desloge-Day. As a lifelong athlete, Nina had tried different types of workouts to improve her athletic performance and prevent injury. Most workouts left her feeling that something was missing, and it was. A triathlon coach suggested she try Pilates and she was hooked from the first workout.
The goal of a Pilates workout is strength, flexibility and endurance, without risking injury or building bulk. The focus is on core stability, including pelvic and shoulder stabilization, neutral alignment and breathing. Pilates helps restore the natural curves of the spine, relieve tension and enhance self-confidence. The result is a balanced and aligned body that looks fit, feels revitalized and moves with ease. Nina’s own experience and that of her clients is simply that, Pilates works. After teaching clients the 5 Basic Principals of Pilates, Nina then designs a customized Pilates program. She advises clients to start with the Introductory Package of 3 Private Lessons to familiarize themselves with the equipment and the studio.
